Windy Neal
Director of Music, Walkersville High School
Ms. Windy Neal graduated from Frostburg State University in 2007 with a Bachelors of Science in Music Education K-12. While enrolled in Frostburg, Ms. Neal studied clarinet with Dr. Mark Gallagher and conducting with Mr. Noel Kunkle for instrumental and Dr. Karen Soderberg-Sarnarker for choral music. Although she was an active member in the school’s Collegiate Music Educators Association, she was highly involved with groups such as American Choral Directors Association, Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity, and the Performing Arts Stage Crew. Ms. Neal has also helped to coordinate the FSU Honor Band for the last 4 years. Though her resume is detailed, her participation in the Marching “Bobcat” Band, Wind Ensemble, and as the student conductor of the University Chorale has been the highlight and joy of her college career.
Though originally from Baltimore, Ms. Neal finds herself teaching in order to give back to the students what she had to work hard and learn on her own. Her commitment to family and community involvement will be the theme of her introductory year at Walkersville High School.
